据介绍，凤凰山位于宝安区福永街道，方圆２９．７平方公里，２００６年开始规划建设森林公园。改造一新的凤凰山森林公园分为游览区、服务区等４大功能区，共有广场景区、凤岩古寺等７个景区、２８个景点。新改建后的凤凰山郊野公园不但保持了原汁原味的山形地貌及自然景观，同时又增设了电子眼、景观灯、背景音响等现代化设备，市民在此可观景、爬山、垂钓，体验回归自然的乐趣。

入口广场体现岭南文化

入口景观区包括前广尝门楼、文化广尝栖凤台、普门示现牌坊、观音桥、莲花池、凤凰广尝林荫休息区等部分。

门楼东侧的文化广场，主体沿用岭南特色的青灰色铺装，体现素雅古朴而安静的氛围；两侧呈序列设置高杆灯柱，外侧通过绿化分隔，形成两个相对安静的休息空间。
