Whitney Duncan will release her new Album, Right Road Now, on her Web site and iTunes on April 20.
Duncan’s new album features 11 songs co-written by the Country Music singer, including fan favorite singles “When I Said I Would” and “Skinny Dippin’.” Duncan’s fans had an opportunity, through her Web site to select the songs that would complete her new album. “Comin’ Home to You,” the tenth song on the album, was chosen.
AOL’s The Boot premiered a special video of the song “Right Road Now” on Thursday in support of the new album. The video will be available for purchase on iTunes on the day of the album’s release, April 20.
Duncan has had many achievements throughout her career. During her late teenage years, Kenny Rogers asked Duncan to duet on the song “My World Is Over,” which she wrote. In addition, she has penned songs for LeAnn Rimes, Crystal Shawanda and Lee Ann Womack.
Born in the small Tennessee town of Scotts Hill, Whitney Duncan developed a passion for music as a child and was soon singing in church, expanding to performing at local talent shows, fairs, and festivals, and even traveling to neighboring states like Kentucky and Missouri to sing at events. In her early teens she began traveling to Nashville and by her senior year in high school she had actually landed a record deal, cutting several sides, including a duet with Kenny Rogers on a song she wrote, "My World Is Over," which ended up appearing on his 42 Ultimate Hits album. Duncan and the label parted ways, though, but she soon connected with producer Mark Bright, who in turn introduced her to writer John Shanks, and after an acoustic showcase, an enthusiastic Warner Bros. signed her to a major-label deal and Duncan began cutting tracks for an album project tentatively titled Right Road Now under the watchful eyes of Bright and Shanks in 2007. That same year the self-titled and self-released Whitney Duncan appeared. A single from the new project, "When I Said I Would," appeared in 2008.

Lyrics:
The first time that I ever saw your face
I felt something stop me in my place
The kinda thing that you just can’t see coming your way
I closed my eyes and I jumped right in
Zero to sixty and to the win
With my head held high like it was never coming home
And I trusted you when you asked me to
When I said I would, tell me what was I thinking
I gave my heart without even blinking
That’s all you got? Well baby that’s just no good
(Whoa) Don’t give me that lie
You know I won’t buy it
You’re as good at love as you are at lying
You said “Uh-huh” but I just don’t think you understood
When I said I would
I stood by you, played by the rules
For a second I thought that you did too
Makes me wonder how long you would have let me be a fool
I gave it my best, this is what I get
When I said I would, tell me what was I thinking
I gave my heart without even blinking
That’s all you got? Well baby that’s just no good
(Whoa) Don’t give me that lie
You know I won’t buy it
You’re as good at love as you are at lying
You said “Uh-huh” but I just don’t think you understood
When I said I would
Uuuuuhhhhh
When I said I would
I’m taking back (When I said I would love you)
I’m taking back (Every kiss that I gave you)
I’m taking back (Every promise I made you)
I’m taking back everything that I said
When I said I would, tell me what was I thinking
I gave my heart without even blinking
That’s all you got? Well baby that’s just no good
(Whoa) Don’t give me that lie
You know I won’t buy it
You’re as good at love as you are at lying
You said “Uh-huh” but I just don’t think you understood
When I said I would
When I said I would
(Whoa) Don’t give me that lie
You know I won’t buy it
You’re as good at love as you are at lying
You said “Uh-huh” but I just don’t think you understood
When I said I would
When I said I would
