很久以前在一本介绍英美百诗的书里读到过这首，没想到它现在有了一个新的版本（原文和译文均）：

据说在{zx1}的2.3版本里增加了一个送信的小任务，在旧大陆暴风要塞替一位达纳苏斯的小女孩送一封信给她的朋友。信中是一首诗，就是上面这首。

收信人叫Caylee Dak，名字和形象都来自WOW现实世界里今年8月因为慢性白血病去世的一个玩家（美服），因为Caylee生前为人友善，乐于助人，所以9月份的时候，Caylee所在服务器的朋友在暴风城游行哀悼追思（这里是，可以看见出席的玩家都换掉了拉风的装备穿上了黑色的衣服）。

然后在新的游戏版本里，Caylee Dak重生了，默默地站在外域奥尔多高台上，等待着路过的人带去朋友们{yj}的哀思和怀念。

暴雪一贯喜欢KUSO，在WOW里充满了对经典文学与人物的戏仿（比如卖中级钓鱼教材的NPC叫海明威……），所以将一首xx的诗歌艾泽拉斯化是xx在意料之中，只是知道了这首诗的来历之后，还是不得不感叹一下策划人员的细致。

这不是暴雪{dy}次把玩家加入到游戏中了，以前还有一个得癌症的小孩Ezra Chatterton被邀请过去暴雪公司参观并且为WOW设计了一个寻找丢失的小狗的任务。
