This year’s Saint Catherine’s Day Festival, a long-standing tradition in France’s apparel industry and a memorable yearly event at IFA Paris, has successfully come to an end.
Long long ago, In France on Saint Catherine’s Day, 25-year-old single women created their own yellow and green hats. They then walked the streets in France wearing their hats in hopes of coincidentally meeting the right man.
At IFA Paris, all freshmen, male and female, designed hats for this special event on November 25th and gathered with their creations in the first floor hall for the Saint Catherine Award Ceremony on December 3rd. Kason Li’s future structuralism, Sharon Xie’s glorious flowers and Sabine Ducasse’s metallic hat with brass accents were among the creative designs that freely mixed colors and fabrics and showed the imagination and style of the designers.
The jury, composed of IFA’s professors and its Academic Director, selected the Top 10 designs, and the Top 10 received one year subscriptions to L’OFFICIEL magazine. Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing more excellent designs during next year’s Saint Catherine’s Day Festival. More information—
