2009年12月圣戈班官网报导：2009年11月10日，美国俄亥俄州xx地方法院判定，中国香港信义汽车玻璃有限公司（Xinyi Automobile Glass Co. Ltd.）所销售的产品中出现侵权现象，赔偿法国圣戈班安全玻璃一千零九十万美元（$10.9 million）。
报道中指出，该侵权案中香港信义汽车玻璃有限公司侵犯了法国圣戈班安全玻璃的两项专利，内容包括挡风玻璃的设计和安装方法，涉及到法国圣戈班公司安全玻璃用于沃尔沃、奥迪、大众等汽车上的挡风玻璃模型。 December 2009-Saint-Gobain wins Windshield Extrusion Patent Case A US Court has awarded Saint-Gobain $10.9 million in compensation, after concluding that Xinyi Automobile Glass Co. Ltd., violated Saint-Gobain windshield extrusion patents.
Nine jurors returned a unanimous verdict in a U.S. District Court of Ohio on Nov 10, 2009 that Xinyi, a Chinese windshield maker, wilfully infringed two Saint-Gobain patents.
These patents, covering the windshield design and a method for easier installation, concern 14 windshield models, most of which are installed in Volvo, Audi and Volkswagen automobiles.
The suit demonstrated that Xinyi, by importing automotive glazings such as windshields and selling them to car dealers or glass fitters, infringed Saint-Gobain’s US patents, granted respectively in March 1992 and October 2001.
Mr. Javier Colmenares (V.P – Sales & Marketing) for Saint-Gobain Sekurit, the Automotive Glazing Division of Saint-Gobain, stated: “Saint-Gobain is ready to study possible licence agreements for its patents with other industrial actors. However, the Group is determined to fight industrialists and distributors who deliberately infringe IP rights. We truly hope that such a sentence will lead market actors to better integrate patent compliance in their strategy. This recent legal decision is good news for all industry players – patent and licence holders, and their clients – whose interests are protected.”
