ROSELAND, N.J., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Curtiss-Wright Corp. has been contracted to supply the U.S. Navy Virginia-Class submarines and a Ford-Class Aircraft Carrier with valve technologies. New Jersey-based Curtiss-Wright's Flow Control unit was contacted by U.S. company Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. for more than $83 million. As part of the contract, Curtiss-Wright, a developer of nuclear propulsion technologies, will supply its critical valves for installation with the Navy's next four Virginia-Class submarines under construction and the second of the new Ford-Class Aircraft Carriers. "Since the inception of nuclear powered ships, Curtiss-Wright's commitment to providing the most advanced, reliable technologies has ensured our continued participation in these vital defense programs," Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
