西安电影培训学院,属社会力量办学性质，是由西安电影制片厂主办，经陕西省教育厅于2000年5月批准成立的一所全日制艺术类民办高等院校。
根据国家教育部新近颁布的《民办教育促进法》规定，民办学校的受教育者在升学、就业、社会待遇、参加先进评选、医疗保险等方面，享有与同级同类公办院校受教育者同等的权利。
学院位于古城西安大雁塔风景区的西安电影制片厂内，环境幽雅，影视艺术氛围浓郁。西影厂齐全先进的影视设备和众多的名导名演，并兼得于学院严格正规的饿管理和雄厚的师资力量，为培养影视艺术人才营造了良好的办学条件。学院现占地面积15000平方米，其中建筑面积10000平方米。建有办公区和教学大楼、独立的学生公寓、300余平方米的多功能练功大厅、正规的专业戏剧舞台、影视观摩放映厅、微机室、语言训练室、演播厅、摄影室、洗相暗室、广播室以及各类专业教室。室内均设置有专业表演练习的小舞台，配有彩电、音响、DVD影碟机、投影仪等电教设备；还设置了可供1000余人同时用餐的餐厅以及商店、洗衣房等；学生公寓均配置独立的组合式床桌柜、暖气、电扇、201卡电话等生活配套用具。本院的第三期扩建工程亦在建设之中。
