Laboratoires de Biologie Marine Daniel Jouvance

The DANIEL JOUVANCE – Institut  de  France Foundation is awarding a prize of 4000 € to  a young scientist working in fundamental or applied aspects of marine biology, marine chemistry, marine biotechnology  or  oceanography.

The topic for the 2010 prize is

Environmental management and economic use of excessive algal biomass

Applicants (less than 30 years old) should send before  April 30 /2010

  -  A  Curriculum Vitae     (2 pages maximum)    

  - a short but consistent and fully explicative abstract of the scientific work (4 pages maximum)

  -  a copy of the title page of published papers and thesis.

The Daniel Jouvance Prize is awarded yearly since 1992. The 2008 laureate was Ed. Stockdale,  University of Western Australia, Crawley,  for  his work on iron/calcium mineralisation in Chiton radula. The 2009 laureate was  Aurelie Chambouvet, Marine Station  Roscoff, France: Control of Toxic Marine Dinoflagellate Blooms by  Parasitic Syndiniales

Daniel Jouvance Marine Biology Laboratories undertake to  develop cosmetic products according to strict ethical guidelines: marine ingredients  are  either collected (natural origin) or grown up  ( marine microalgae)  under environmentally sustainable conditions. The elaborated products are not tested on animals.

The  Daniel Jouvance Marine  Biology Laboratories  initiate and support  a large series of  projects  contributing to the advancement of marine biology and to a wide sharing of this  knowledge for equitable development.
