北京提前10天进入春运
Beijing's railway geared up for 2010 Spring Festival transportation as the 40-day long rush started Wednesday, 10 days ahead of national schedule, the railway bureau said. Railways in Beijing are expected to carry more than 21m passengers during the holiday, a 13% increase over 2009. Authorities have decided to add another 103 temporary trains to cope with the surge.
据北京铁路局消息，从今日起北京铁路运输部门进入春运状态，这比全国春运提前了10天，以应对未来40天的春运压力。预计今年春运北京铁路将输送超过2100万旅客，比去年增长13%，铁路部门将加开103对临客来缓解运力紧张。

台'检察总长'遭弹劾请辞
Taiwan's supervision authorities impeached its "prosecutor-general" Chen Tsung-ming Tuesday by a vote of 8 to 3. Chen resigned soon after the impeachment was approved and has become the first chief prosecutor impeached on the island. Chen was accused of dereliction of duty in the investigation into ex-leader Chen Shui-bian's corruption case.
19日，台湾监察机构以8比3的票数通过对"检察总长"陈聪明的弹劾案。陈聪明随即递交了辞呈，成为台湾有史以来{dy}位被弹劾的"检察总长"。监察机构认为，陈聪明在陈水扁家族弊案的调查过程中犯有严重失职行为。

谷歌推迟Gphone在华上市
Google Inc said Tuesday it has postponed the launch of 2 Android-based Gphones in China that had been set for Wednesday. Company spokeswoman Marsha Wang declined to give a reason or say when the launch might be rescheduled, according to AP. The mobile phones were made with Samsung Electronics and Motorola.
谷歌公司19日表示，已推迟两款谷歌Android操作系统手机(Gphone)的在华发布计划。上述两款手机由谷歌与三星电子和摩托罗拉联合开发，原计划20日在中国推出。据美联社报道，谷歌发言人王锦红并未解释为何推迟发布，也没有给出新的发布时间表。

>Kraft buys Cadbury
卡夫终成功收购吉百利
British candy maker Cadbury accepted Kraft's improved takeover offer worth ￡11.9b Tuesday, potentially ending a months-long corporate battle to create the world's largest maker of chocolate and sweets. The US food conglomerate said the board of Cadbury had unanimously endorsed the offer worth 840 pence per share. Cadbury shareholders will also get a 10 pence dividend.
19日，英国糖果制造商吉百利接受美国卡夫食品每股840便士、总价119亿英镑的收购报价，就此，双方数月来的收购拉锯战终见分晓。合并后的新公司将成为世界{zd0}的巧克力糖果制造企业。卡夫表示，该收购要约获得吉百利董事会全票通过。此外，吉百利股东还将得到每股10便士的股息。

Japan Airlines (JAL) filed for bankruptcy protection with the Tokyo District Court Tuesday in one of the nation's largest corporate failures, paving the way for state-led restructuring. The Tokyo Stock Exchange said JAL shares will be delisted February 20. Shares in the carrier dropped to a record low of 3 yen at one point during trade Tuesday.
19日，日本航空公司向东京地方法院申请破产保护，正式进入由日本政府主导的破产重组程序。这是日本历史上{zd0}的破产案之一。东京证交所发布公告称，日航股票将于下月20日退市。19日，日本航空股价盘中曾一度触及3日元，再创历史新低。

>Avatar (2D) pulled off screens
'阿凡达'2D证实周六下线
Cinemas across China will stop showing the 2D version of the science fiction epic "Avatar" as of Saturday, according to theater operators. The 3D and IMAX versions of the movie will continue their run into February. Insiders believe part of the reason is that most viewers prefer the 3D version and the 2D didn't make much money. With the pullout of the 2D version, other movies scheduled before Spring Festival will gain more room for showing.
全国各大城市影院相继证实，科幻大片《阿凡达》2D版将于23日起全部停映，而3D版及巨幕版将继续上映至2月份。对此，业内人士分析称，《阿凡达》2D版的下线，主要是因为票房不佳，更多观众倾向于3D版，且其它春节档影片即将上映，因此需要空出档期为其让路。

The 32-year-old, a free agent since leaving the Boston Celtics last season, has made a deal with the club and is to arrive in Shanxi next week.

A musical about Barack Obama's election campaign premiered in Germany last weekend, including love songs by the president to his wife Michelle and duets with Hillary Clinton. Thirty performers presented the musical "Hope-the Obama Musical Story" in a bilingual mix of English and German. The audience may recognize that many songs quote from politicians' speeches during the 2008 US presidential campaign.(See photo)

Advertising of junk food will be banned from TV from 5 pm to 7 pm, and be prohibited during children's programs any time, South Korea's Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs announced Tuesday. The ban, starting this month, applies to food with a high calorie content but low nutrition, which is blamed for obesity and other illnesses.
韩国保健福祉家庭部19日宣布，从本月起，"垃圾食品"广告不得出现在每天17-19时的电视节目时段中，少儿节目中全天禁止插播此类广告。此项禁令针对的是高热量、低营养的"垃圾食品"，因为这些食品被认为是导致肥胖和其它疾病的"罪魁祸首"。

>Water-skiing squirrel a hit

Twiggy, a water-skiing squirrel, is the star at the 38th Minneapolis Boat Show in the US, performing on a miniature pair of skis (see photo), the Daily Mail reported. The little creature is towed behind a remote-controlled toy powerboat operated by her trainer. Twiggy has performed in Europe as well as North America and boasts appearances on the hit US TV show "Good Morning America".
据英国《每日邮报》报道，在日前举行的第38届美国明尼阿波利斯帆船表演中，一只名叫"Twiggy"的小松鼠展示了高超的滑水技术(见图)，使现场观众为之一震。表演时，小松鼠跟在一艘玩具船后面，踏着迷你滑水板滑水，玩具船则由它的训练者遥控。Twiggy在北美和欧洲均表演过滑水，甚至还上过电视节目《早安美国》并大受欢迎。
