XINING, China - On Tuesday, Li Na made a special visit to Xining, the capital city of Qinghai province in China. In April, an earthquake happened in Yushu in Qinghai province that devastated the lives of countless individuals and families. At the Huang Nan Zhou Children Orphanage in Xining, Li shared her personal story of success, providing hope and inspiration. Kids also had a chance to play tennis and receive tips from the world's No.10 player.

中国，西宁-  7月6日索尼爱立信WTA巡回赛世界排名前十的中国球员李娜来到了青海首府西宁，探访那些在地震中受灾的孤儿。在今年四月，因为发生在玉树的地震，青海成为了备受关注的地区。在西宁的黄南州孤儿院，李娜和孩子们一起分享了自己成功的故事，从而激励孩子们对未来的希望。同时，孩子们也接受了李娜网球方面的指导。

Yushu, the area most heavily hit, lost 2220 lives. The earthquake damaged the orphanage in the Yushu community beyond repair. The Huang Nan Zhou Children Orphanage in Xining has, so far, taken in 57 orphans from Yushu, and they expect the number to continue to grow. This Orphanage relies upon charitable donations to operate and care for the kids.

青海省玉树县在今年4月的地震中，共有2,220人遇难。地震也将当地的孤儿院摧毁。西宁黄南州孤儿院迄今已经接受了从玉树来的57名孤儿，这个数字还在增加。该孤儿院依靠慈善捐助来维持运行，照顾孩子们。

Li has so far donated 400,000RMB (about $59,000) to CFPA, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, and has entrusted CFPA to use the donation to help Yushu orphans. With 300,000RMB of her donation, Li will provide living expenses for those children for three years. To help in developing kids' resilience needed to recover from the trauma of a disaster, the remainder of Li's donation, 100,000RMB, will pay for sports equipment and facilities to 10 schools serving 1,000 students in Yushu. In addition, her support will give teachers training on how to use sport to promote youths' development of basic life skills.

李娜到目前为止一共给中国扶贫基金会捐出40万元人民币善款，并委托该基金会用该款项帮助玉树的孤儿。其中，30万元人民币将用于提供玉树孤儿3年的生活费用。同时，为了帮助孩子们在灾后重建的过程中拥有更强的承受力，其余10万元善款将用来为玉树当地10所学校，共1000名学生提供体育锻炼设施。此外，她的捐赠还将为当地的老师提供培训机会，使得他们能更好地帮助孩子们提升基本生活技能。

"I was in Germany when the Yushu earthquake happened. I was shocked by the news and also deeply moved by people there, seeing their courage facing this life tragedy," Li said. "I was thinking about what I could do to help people in Yushu to better recover from this catastrophe.Further to her prize money from Madrid in May, Li has also pledged all her prize money from this September's China Open in Beijing to help the orphans.

"玉树地震发生的时候我在德国。当我通过新闻了解到地震给那里的人们带来的打击，了解到人们面对这次意外的勇敢精神，我被感动了。同时我也在想，自己能做点什么来帮助灾区的人们更好地从这次灾难中恢复，"李娜说道。除了这次将自己在马德里网球公开赛中的所有奖金捐赠，李娜还将会把今年索尼爱立信WTA巡回赛中另一项{dj0}赛事——中国网球公开赛中所获得的奖金悉数捐出，用来帮助玉树的孤儿。同时，李娜也希望孩子们通过接触体育运动，能更加乐观，更加拥有互信的精神。

"When I'm on court, people only see me playing tennis, when in fact all my success couldn't be achieved if there weren't so many people behind me and supporting me. That's why I feel I should do something in return to help those in need," Li added. "I want them to feel the support of our society and I hope they will continue to be strong in their construction of a new life."
