A well established Manufacturing and Marketing Company based in Taiwan with Manufacturing and Distribution Centers located in Xiamen, China is engaged in Design, Development, Manufacturing, and distribution activities across the Asia Pacific basin. Yamani's flagship store, located in Xiamen's commercial center, has an area of over 1800 square meters. Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Dalian, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Wuhan will provide the necessary guidance to all chain stores on effective management skills. Job Purpose Summary: This is a new position created to setup and organize a central sourcing, team, covering all three business units. Reporting to the CEO, the position will analyze the existing process and supplier base create and develop a central sourcing plan, direct and manage the overall sourcing activities to provide cost effective raw materials (leather, hardware and fabric) for the company’s 3 manufacturing factories. Manage the existing supplier base ensuring quality and compliance, along with identifying potential new suppliers. Create a strong supplier relationship, to ensure the long term benefits of both parties. Create and maintain a materials library allowing a more proactive response to the fashion trend and requirements. The role will be a challenging but rewarding one, allowing the successful candidate the opportunity not only to develop the corporate sourcing strategy of a multi million dollar business but also develop his/her own career with the support from the board of directors, with a industry sector that is being identified as one of the fastest and most stable growth areas within China/Asia. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: ? Develop and implement profitable sourcing strategies in alignment with corporate goals and strategies ? Lead the central sourcing team and associated activities to build up a robust supplier base ? Provide strategic direction for the team to ensure business growth as well as cost, quality and delivery objectives are met ? The ability to build and maintain a material library, with an understanding of potential market trends. ? Hire, train, supervise and motivate the sourcing team ? Establish & improve regulations & process of the sourcing teams. ? Provide leadership to the team to deliver results Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: ? At least 10 years experience in sourcing and purchasing management, of which at least 5 years in managerial role. ? 5 years of working China/Asian experience required. ? Experience within the accessory, footwear and leather product industry is preferred, but fashion and or apparel industry will be considered. ? A keen sense of the fashion trend ? Manufacturing process knowledge is essential ? Sound knowledge of the Asian supplier base and sourcing activities. ? Fluent English is essential along with mandarin. ? Excellent negotiation and contract management skills ? Strong interpersonal and people management skills ? Strong leadership and teamwork spirit |
